The Costume Gallery occupies the 18th-century Palazzina della Meridiana, a wing of the Pitti Palace overlooking the Boboli Gardens. The collection comprises six thousand items including costumes dating from the 16th to the 20th centuries, theatre costumes and accessories. It is the only museum of the history of fashion in Italy and one of the most important in the world. A selection is exhibited in rotation every two years. There are frequent special exhibitions devoted to particular aspects of the collection.
Opening hours: Daily, 8:15-13:50. Closed on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday and 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month, New Year’s Day, May 1st and Christmas Day.
Tickets: Full price Euro 5,00, Reduced Euro 2,50 and also Combined tickets. Possibility of Free admission. Valid also for the Gallery of Modern Art.

Disabled persons: Access via the lift off the Palace courtyard. Staff at the foot of the main staircase will provide assistance to reach the gallery.
Schools: Free entry.

A list of the students and teachers on headed note-paper must be handed in at the entrance.
